Dr Ravindra Datta

Ravindra Datta is President and Founder, Volta Energy, Inc., and Emeritus Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA 01609. Following a four-decade long career in academia, teaching and doing research in renewable and clean energy, he is now focused on developing electrochemical energy technologies for the renewable sector.

 His academic research was focused on the application of catalysis and electrocatalysis principles to clean energy, working alongside more than fifty graduate students including two-dozen doctoral students. This research is described in a hundred and fifty publications and eight patents. He started one of the first such Fuel Cell Center at WPI, and also served as Department Head of Chemical Engineering.

Connor Buek

Connor Buek is a recent graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he majored in Chemical Engineering. As a student, he completed undergraduate research experimenting and modeling a concept for pure oxygen production using PEM water electrolysis technology. After graduation, he completed an internship at the Chemours Company supporting the Nafion™ R&D team. He has since returned to Worcester Polytechnic Institute to complete his Master’s in Chemical Engineering, expecting to graduate in 2021. He is hopeful about the Hydrogen Economy and expects to find a role supporting and advancing the field of hydrogen.
